We are sailing! This morning at 0630 the wind came back even stronger than yesterday’s breeze.

With the never-ending enthusiasm of all awake, we hoisted and trimmed the sails to get Twister into her rhythm.

During yesterday’s morning watch from 0400 to 0800, Nils & Floor observed the (change in) colors of the sky to take notes on the time of arrival of daylight.

They put it into words that cannot be left unshared:

Light

Millions of stars sparkle like diamonds in the night sky,

Then suddenly it changes from dark blue to  lighter blue.

The eastern sky becomes lighter and lighter,

Stars shine a little less brighter.

The sky in the west is still dark,

There the stars still spark.

At the horizon we see the rise off the morning star,

So close and yet so far.

Magical and mystical like the silver flying fish,

We hope for the last shooting star to make a wish.

At the horizon, the first colors appear like a painting,

Filling our hearts with joy, we see the morning rainbow

In the western sky the last stars are fading,

In the east there is a red, orange, yellow and blue glow.

Sun rises from the ocean like a golden treasure,

Last step in our ‘daylight measure’ .

With hope and love in our heart,

We are thankful for this day’s start.
