Everybody is enjoying the sailing enormously. We had another beautiful night of sailing and spotting shooting stars.

With the arrival of the first daylight of the morning, we took the reefs out of the main sail and schooner sail.

All awake are giving a hand: people on watch, deckhand Nils in between his bread baking and cook Frederick before he starts preparing his famous breakfast.

During the hoist of the full mainsail, Floor got really lucky this morning. While she was handling the sheet of the main sail on the aft deck, she stood eye to eye with an enormous whale.

After a big splash, the big body rose out of the sea, and that on only a 5-metre distance.

Spirits are high on board. We listen to a surprising amount of Christmas music that was found on Iris’ phone, after discovering that an interesting amount of music downloads failed for others.

Other than that, people are writing anonymously poems to each other; Katrin is tapdancing; Karl is giving a knot workshop; a game to guess what time we will see land is started; Thomas is playing Beatles songs on his ukelele and people are singing sea shanties. Who asked how to fill a day in the middle of the ocean?

See attached a picture of deckhand Karl during his splice workshop and cook Frederick presenting another delicious dinner on the aft deck.
