Sun’s up. Sail’s up. Sea’s calm.
The beautiful thing about having an easterly course is that you sail towards the sun.
If the sky is clear blue, like we have it now, the sun rises like a golden ball out of the ocean.
Just like at home, one night is darker than the other at sea.
These days, we have a lovely moonlight guiding us through the night.
But just like the sun rises, the moon also sets into the sea. Truly magical.
See the attached picture of the moon before disappearing into the sea last night.
The ocean has a calming effect on people. The rhythm gives you time to evaluate.
And more in the sunlight than in the moonlight, people write and sketch their thoughts, ideas, experience, and inspiration.
In diaries, logbooks and sketchbooks. On a quiet or cheerful place, in the sun or the shade, with or without people, with or without sharing.
Pin rail diagrams are sketched, logbooks are being kept up to date, and ideas are saved.
That way, the journey does not end at the destination, but you can bring part of it home.
