Last night, we left Ile d`Ouessant after a short stop. We were all excited to set foot on land (almost mainland Europe!).

It was a beautiful sunny spring day and after a short but very refreshing swim in the bay, we boarded the dinghy and went exploring.

After a good week at sea, I enjoyed seeing the green fields, rocky shores and colourful flowers. I loved smelling different smells, feeling the grass between my toes and hearing the birds sing.

But even though a day on shore was a welcome change, I am even more happy to set sail again and settle back into the rhythm of life at sea.

When sailing you learn to let go of expectations and just be in the moment. We don`t quite know what this last week will bring us. Will we be able to sail or will we have to motor? Will we make another stop and if so, when and where?

What I do know, tacking up the busy channel, is that we have a week of very different sailing ahead of us than what we are used to right now.

And I plan to soak up every minute of it and enjoy whatever comes our way.
